Water quality and health

Public seminar, 11am - noon Tuesday 2 September 2008, CSIRO Discovery Centre, Canberra.

The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) is pleased to invite you to a free public seminar about the global challenges of water quality and health.

With special guest speaker

Dr Jamie Bartram
Coordinator, Programme for Assessing and Managing Environmental Risks to Health, World Health Organization (WHO).

From 1999 to 2006, Dr Bartram served as Coordinator of WHO’s Water, Sanitation and Health Programme, and from 2004 to 2006 he was the Chair of UN-Water, a body charged with providing overall direction and coordinating the water-related activities of 23 agencies of the United Nations and 12 international partner
organisations.

In this seminar, Dr Bartram will discuss the World Health Organization’s latest water
initiatives and global challenges in water quality and health.
